His MIC and medal roll confirm that Thomas Drayton served in both the York & Lan Regiment, and the Durham Light Infantry (service no 54960)landing in France on the 15th January 1915 he is also entitled to the Silver War badge.

His service papers show he was a Baker from Nottingham and enlisted aged 19 in 1908, he served in India from 1908 to 1914 then in France from the 15th january 1915 to the 28th February 1915, serving at home and then to the reserve, being discharged in June 1917.

His papers record he suffered from frostbite in France on the 6th february 1915
