Cpl. RFA on 1914 Star; Sgt. on pair and BQMS on LSGC and MSM. Others unnamed as issued.
Landed France 14.10.14 with Meerut Ammunition Column and according to MSM card served with 35th Battery RFA.
Awarded “immediate” MSM per LG 28-10-1920 for service on the North West Frontier of India – only 50 immediate MSMs awarded for NWF and only TWO to RA.
Note 1 : Victory medal carries small MID spray; we have not found confirmation of an MID but have left the leaf in situ.
Note 2 – no trace of this man receiving any IGS – so MSM probably for “behind the scenes” work OR for service in one or other of the frontier campaigns of 1914-18 (e.g. Tochi 1915, Mohmand blockade or the much larger Waziristan campaign of 1917.)
In WW2 period address was Rounds Green, Oldbury, Birmingham, but no further personal details known to us.
