to – 302056 J. W. Beeson, L.Sto. RN; SPO on Pair and Stoker, HMS Caradoc on LSGC.

Copied service papers – born Nottingham in 1882 and joined RN as Sto. 2 in 1902. Served through to November 1924 when pensioned to shore.

During the war, Beeson served on Attentive (1914-17) and Caradoc June 1917 to Jan. 1921.

Caradoc participated in the Second Battle of Heligoland Bight late in 1917  and was deployed to the Baltic in 1918 supporting anti-Bolshevik forces during the British campaign in the region and then was transferred to the Mediterranean Fleet in early 1919.

She spent the next year and a half doing the same thing in the Black Sea during the Russian Civil War. The ship was withdrawn from the Black Sea in mid-1920 to observe the Greco-Turkish War of 1919–22 and the Chanak Crisis of late 1922.
