A Good 8th Battalion Royal Fusiliers WW1 Trio.

1914-15 Star 5658 Pte F. Skinner. R. Fus; British War and Victory Medals, 5658 Sjt F. Skinner. R.Fus.

Frederick Skinner served with the 8th Battalion Royal Fusiliers landing France 1st June 1915.

The 8th Battalion was part of the  36th Brigade, 12th Division and took part  in the Battle of Loos 1915, in action at the Hohenzollern Redoubt.

The Somme in 1916, Actions at Pozieres and La Transloy.

Battle of Arras 1917, 1st and 3rd Battle of Scarpe, Capture of Roux, Cambrai Tank attack and the German Counter attack.

1st and 2nd Battles of the Somme 1918, Battle of Amiens, Battle of Albert, the Hindenburg line. Battle of Epeny. Battle of St Quentin Canal. and the final advance into Artois.

The regiment suffered 15,600 casualties during WW1 and received 12 Victoria Crosses.
