Military Cross (Geo V) in box of issue, un-named as issued; 1914-15 Star, 2. Lieut. M. Mackinnon. High.L.I; British War and Victory medals, Capt M. Mackinnon; Matching set of miniatures in Spinks box.
Malcolm Mackinnon was from East Ham, Essex and served in the 4th Highland Light Infantry.
Appointed 2nd Lieutenant 9th April 1915
He landed in France on the 9th December 1915
Military Cross: London Gazette 20th October 1916:
“2nd Lt Malcolm MacKinnon, High L.I. Spec Res.
For conspicuous gallantry in action. He organised the supply of bombs and ammunition to the front line, and successfully carried out this work under very heavy shell fire”
Acting Captain from 3rd August 1917
