Boer War medal to a Lieutenant in the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders
Queens South Africa, clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1902, to 2/Lt I H Burnley -Campbell, A&S;Hdrs, with matching miniature, both on original wearing pins.
Ian Hardin Burnley-Campbell was born on the 29th November 1882, the son of Hardin and Margaret Jane Burnley Campbell. He served in the Boer war , in Transvaal from March to May 1902, and Operations in Cape Colony May 1902 in the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.
With his Commission document dated 8th May 1901 with an original Edward VII signature.
He resigned his commission in August 1907.
Died 21st April 1945 in Paris, having being living at 4 Rue Rodier, Paris, during the German occupation, which must have been an interesting experience for a retired British Army officer.
