Edward VII Distinguished Conduct Medal – Re-named to the Royal Horse Artillery.

D.C.M. (Edward VII) 12386  Gunr C.S. Shaw. R.H.A.

Charles Shaw was born in Lincoln, Lincolnshire in 1881 and enlisted into the R.H.A. on the 11th September 1900, also serving in the R.F.A.

During the Boer war he was serving in the Pom Pom section R.A.

He was tried by D.C.M.in October 1905 and reduced to the ranks

Discharged 10th September 1912.

His papers and medal rolls confirm he received a Q.S.A. clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902

We have not found any reference to him being awarded a Distinguished Conduct medal.
