Egypt (un-dated) clasp The Nile 1884-85, 5826 Pte A. Roberts. M.S. Corps. (Note Incorrect initial, should be W)
William Roberts – papers show (confirmed by same regimental number) born in Balleymena, Co. Antrum in 1863 and enlisted aged 23 on the 10th March 1884; served until 6th March 1896. His Papers confirm he is in receipt of the Egypt medal and clasp for the Nile and Khedives star.
Under the crcumstances of the campaign, the personnel of the MSC faced a lot of continuous hard work and earned their medal!
It should be noted that the medal roll whilst having the correct regimental number has his initial as A (as issued)
