Indian Mutiny – 28th Bombay Native Infantry
Indian Mutiny 1857-59, no clasp, Private Ramsawmee H.M’s. 28th. Regt. Bo. N.I.
The Regiment was raised in 1846, serving under the Bombay Presidency as of 1st July 1857.
Stationed at Dharwar, it consisted of 14 European officers, 1 European NCO and 916 rank and file.
A detachment was present at Badamee, which consisted of 28 Native rank and file, and another at Bugulkote consisting of 27 Native rank and file.
A good example of a Mutiny medal to an Indian recipient, scarce to the regiment and in this condition to an Indian recipient.
Condition – edge bruise, otherwise good very fine
