Hon. Cuthbert Ellison Edwardes – from a very distinguished family : son of 3rd Lord Kensington.
After army service of over 22 years (retired in rank of Lt. Col. and had been DAQMG at Aldershot), he became Superintendent and Deputy Chief Constable of Cheshire in 1878 (Hyde and Stockport Divs.) but retired in Aug. 1879.
Married in 1882 Lady Blanche Butler, dau. of the 2nd Marquis of Ormonde.
Died “unexpectedly” in 1911 at his home (Holmedown) near Okehampton.
