Post War Palestine – Auxiliary Territorial Service (A.T.S.)

General Service medal 1918-62, clasp Palestine 1945-48, W. 331207 Pte I. E. Borman. A.T.S. (With box of issue and issue slip)

Ivy Evelyn Boreman was born on the 2nd August 1914 in Brislington, Bristol, the daughter of Arthur Ernest and Susannah Emily Boreman.

Sadly two moths after Ivy’s birth he father died

From her service number it appears she enlisted in the A.T.S. between March 1945 and February 1946.

Ivy served in Palestine between 27th September 1945 and 30th June 1948 receiving the G.S.M. clasp Palestine 1945-48

Following her discharged for the A.T.S. she lived with her brother Alfred and sister in law on Wellington Road, Northampton from 20th November 1949 (Her G.S.M was issued to her whilst at this address.

Upon leaving the army Ivy worked as a waitress until she retired.

Ivy died on the 16th January 2005 aged 90 whilst living at Abbey Chase Nursing and Residential home, Chertsey, North Surrey.
