to – Pte. J. C. Rouse, Kimberley Town Gd., (on QSA), Kimberley Star unnamed as issued, with “A” hallmark; 1914-15 Star to Pte. J. C. Rouse, Veteran Regt.; L/Cpl. on Pair.

Correct on QSA rolls.

WW1 medals heavily impressed as is usual with SA awards.

With copy roll for De Beers’ Mine employees, showing hims as a Night Manager. At Premier Mine, Kimberley. NoK – at 12 Hands St., Kimberley.

Copied WW1 papers – “C” Company, SA Veteran Reserve, proceeding on active service with Southern Force, April 1915 – served in German South West Africa campaign. Seems to have ended service in Jan. 1916.

He died in Kimberley in 1947, aged 86 – photo of gravestone in Kimberley Cem. West included.
