Slightly Wounded in Action Near Lilliefontein 7th May 1901 whilst serving as Mounted Infantry.
6646 George McKay was born in Midlothian and enlisted aged 18 on the 9th January 1899 and served until 8th January 1911.
His service papers confirm his medal and clasps, and entitlement to a Kings South Africa with both clasps.
Medal roll for the QSA has him as initial “A” but with the same regimental number as on his service papers, and on the casualty roll = G
