Richard Thomas Griffiths was from Walton, Liverpool.

He was Killed in Action on the 10th September 1917 whilst serving in the 3rd Battalion Coldstream Guards. He is commemorated on the Tyne Cot memorial

His MIC confirms his entitlement to a pair only.1916

The battalion in 1916 were engaged in the Battle of Delville Wood, The Battle of the Ancre, Operations on the Ancre.
In 1917 they were engaged in the German retreat to the Hindenburg Line, The First Battle of the Scarpe, The Battle of Arleux, The Second Battle of the Scarpe, The Battle of Cambrai.
