Samuel Thornley was born in 1894 and lived in Middleton, Manchester.
His MIC and medal roll confirm he was entitled to a 1914-15 trio, landing in France on the 4th September 1915, and that he served in the 14th Battalion Kings Liverpool Regiment.
He died on the 4th November 1921
