Arthur William Wallace was born on the 2nd December 1894 in Paddington, London, His parents lived on Cambridge Street.

He enlisted into the 1/4th (City of London) Battalion on the 30th September 1914

His MIC  confirms he landed in Egypt on the 24th August 1915.

He served at home to the 22nd December 1914, Malta to 19th August 1915, Expeditionary Force in Egypt to 17th October 1915, home to 22nd February 1917

He was commissioned 2nd Lieut on the 1st March 1917 in the 3rd reserve battalion, London Regiment (London Gazette 16th March 1917)

Mentioned in Despatched, London Gazette 24th December 1917)

Seconded for service in the 16th battalion M.G.C. (Inf) 20th March 1918, transferring on the 26th April 1918.

Submitted his resignation on the 6th October 1920

He died on the 20th August 1977 st St Marys Hospital, Eastbourne.
