Frank Forth was born in York in 1883.
He has two MIC’s one shows him as Frank Forth, entitled to a pair, serving in the 17th Lancers (Service no 6357 and Guards M.G.R. (service no 4489) A separate MIC shows him as T. Forth with service in the same units and service numbers, confirming his 1914 Star, landing in France on the 9th September 1914.
The medal roll for his Star shows him as T. Forth and the roll for the pair as F Forth, which probably explains the error in the naming on the medals.
He service papers show he enlisted on the 28th June 1905, serving at home to the 7th November 1905, India to 5th March 1912, home to 7th March 1912, Army reserve to 4th August 1914, home to 5th October 1914, Expeditionary Force, France to 8th January 1919.
Wounded on the 26th January 1916, Gun shot wound to the scalp.
The 1939 census shows Frank Forth as being a Railway Drayman, born on 8th January 1883.
