Albert Carter was born inNewbury, Berkshire in 1872. He enlisted into the Rifle Brigade on the 23rd November 1892
he served at home from 23rd November 1892 to 14th October 1894, Hong Kong to 22nd November 1896, Singapore to 2nd February 1898, Malta to 1st July 1898, Egypt to 20th September 1898, Crete to 1st October 1899, South Africa to 10th September 1902, home to 22nd November 1904.
His papers confirm this as his full entitlement, plus is involvement in the occupation of Crete.
Within his papers also show that he was called up on the 1st August 1918 for WW1 service in the Army Service Corps, passing to the reserve on the 11th March 1919. We have found no trace of any overseas service during WW1 or medal entitlement.
His papers contain a death certificate of pensioner dated 21st January 1944, in Sunningdale Berkshire.
