Lesley Knapton Way was born on the 28th September 1916 in Bramley, Leeds.
He married Mabel Violet Elizabeth Mitchel in Exeter, Devon in the 3rd quarter of 1939.
He was appointed 2nd Lieutenant on the 19th July 1941 (Service no 1992040) in the Royal Army Pay Corps.
Promoted to Lieutenant 19th January 1943.Lieutenant (Honorary Captain), awarded his T.E.M. London Gazette 4th March 1949.
We don’t know the date he left the army, but he went on to work as a Parliamentary Lobby Correspondent, working for the Western Morning News.
C.B.E. awarded, London Gazette 13th June 1981.
He died on the 8th November 2011 in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.
