Afghanistan 1878-79-80, clasps Charasia, Kabul, 230 Corpl L. Kite, 67th Foot
Levi Kite was born in Andover , Hampshire in 1840.
Enlisted 31st March 1858, promoted the Corporal 1st April 1862, Sergeant on 5th July 1864, tried by court martial and reduced to private 11th June 1866.promoted to Corporal 3rd December 1867, Sergeant 20th June 1868. Arrested and tried, reduced to Private 28th July 1875. Promoted Lce Corporal 3rd July 1877, Corporal 11th June 1879.
During his service he is recorded as serving in East Indies, China, Cape of Good Hope, Afghanistan and Burma
His service papers also state he is additionally entitled to the Second China medal with clasps, Taku forts and Pekin.
Although his papers don’t mention his Afghan War medal, he is correct on the roll with both clasps.
Condition – NEF, some small edge nicks, appears to have been lacquered at some stage.
