Born on the 8th February 1889 in Sandbach, Cheshire., he married Jane Eliza Longstaff on 28th December 1916.
H landed in France on the 10th January 1917, his address is shown as Oakland Avenue, Haslington, Crewe.
In May 1917 he is recorded as attending a course at the Trench Mortar school.
23rd May 1918 promoted to Lieutenant.
Mentioned in Despatches 9th July 1919, whilst serving in the 4th Battalion K.S.L.I. attached 1st battalion.
Resigns his commission in January 1922.
Recorded on the General List 11th March 1941.
