Punjab 1848-49 – 53rd Foot (Shropshires) Wounded at Sobraon.
Punjab 1848-49, no clasp, Thos Mathews, 53rd Foot.
Thomas Mathews was born in Cambridge in 1830
He enlisted in 1842 (aged 12) and served until 12th August 1857.
His service papers record that he was wounded in action as Sobraon, a musket ball to the thigh.
Condition – GVF, some slight edge nicks and surface wear.
