Arthur Goodwin was born on 10th November 1875.
He enlisted on the 10th February 1896, promoted Sergeant on 28th September 1899, Staff Sergeant 1st July 1901, Q.M. Sergeant 1st November 1903.
He was commissioned Lieutenant 23rd December 1914, Honorary Captain 23rd December 1917, Major 25th November 1918.
During WW1 he served in Tsing-Tau 23rd September 1914 to 7th November 1914 (Wounded) Egypt 5th November 1915 to 18th March 1916, Egyptian Expeditionary Force 19th March 1916 to 16th November 1916 in Greek Macedonia, Serbia, Bulgaria, European Turkey and the Islands of the Aegean Sea. 17th November 1916 to 11th November 1918.
Appointed to a higher rate of pay for distinguished service in the field, London gazette 4th June 1917.
He retires on the 17th August 1929
He died on the 4th January 1946 Living in Ormskirk, Lancashire.
He is also entitled to a 1914 trio and L.S.G.C.
