WW1 pair – 4th & 5th battalions Kings Shropshire Light Infntry, Wounded in action, most likely for Hooge, 22nd August 1917.
British War and Victory medals, 25384 Pte J. Willshaw. K.S.L.I.; Card boxes of issue for both medals.
His MIC confirms entitlement to a pair, and the medal roll shows he served in both the 4th and 5th battalions.
He is recorded as being wounded in the Ludlow advertiser of the 6th October 1917, the casualty list includes casualties between 20th to 31st August 1917. Most of which are 5th battalion on the 22nd August 1917.
The battalion war diary shows they were in action at Hooge suffering 1 officer, 19 Other ranks Killed, 4 officers and 107 other ranks wounded and 12 other ranks missing during the action on the 22nd August
